Welcome to health education at the secondary school level.There are many topics to cover this year, all of which can and will have a profound influence in your life should you choose to approach them using both wisdom and intelligence.What follows is a short guide to your health experience this year, including topics covered, how you will be judged on your performance in class, and a few more important items.

Grade 12
Trimester 1

Trimester 2
·Alcohol, Tobacco, and other Drugs:Stimulants, Depressants, Legislation

Grading Policy

Class Notebooks (Comprised of Journal Entries and Class Work)….60%
·Class participation will be graded daily on a 0-100 basis.
·All class work and journal entries will be graded on a 4-3-2-1 basis. These grades are the equivalent to a 100, 80, 50 and 0. The journal entries will be graded separately from the class work, and the two grades will be averaged together to reach a final notebook grade.
·Tests must be done in class, in the time allotted.If there is a problem, see me ASAP so that I know to give extra time where it is needed.Review sheets will be provided prior to the test, and all class notes may be taken out of the class notebooks in order to study, but must be returned the day of the test.We will not have open-book or open-note assessments.
