Child Development Counselor

Lesson 1

1) Click on the following career website.  

2) Click on the paper to download a copy of today's assignment.

3) You may work with a partner to look up each career using the "key word search."  Choose the appropriate education level and salary range for each career.                  

1.   Waiter/Waitress
2.   Chef
3.   Carpenter
4.   Police Officer
5.   Zoologist
6.    Lawyer
7.   Doctor

4) When you are finished you may explore careers that interest you using Education Planner.  Video clips are also available on NY Career Zone.

Lesson 2

1) Click on the following link.

2) Click on a speech bubble of something you enjoy.  Then explore at least 2 jobs that fall under your favorite area of interest.

3) Pick one job that interests you.  Click on the paper below to complete the graphic organizer.  When you finish, check with Mrs. reed before printing.

4) Put your completed graphic organizer in your career folder.  You may continue to explore careers that interest you using this site.  You may also use Education Planner or NY Career Zone.

Lesson 3

1) Take the following Career interest Inventory to discover which career cluster is the best match for your interests/abilities.  Then click "Find Totals".

2) Click on the paper to complete the graphic organizer.

3) Click on the career cluster with your highest score and then click on the different jobs listed to learn more about them.

4) When you have completed the graphic organizer, check with Mrs. reed before printing.  Then you may further explore jobs of interest using any of the following sites.
