Assignment Rules

Assignment rules

Students will receive grades for classwork and for homelearning assignments.  It is important that students write assignments in their agendas, complete every assignment, and make sure they write their name on every assignment.

Classwork will be collected at the end of each class.  A student who is present and does not submit the work will receive a zero for that class assignment.  Quiz and test scores fall into this category, and may sometimes be counted as two grades.

Homework will be assigned with a due date, usually the next class meeting.  A student who is present on the day the assignment is given and the day it is due and does not submit the work will receive a zero for that homework assignment.

Students with excused absences have three classes to make up the missed work.  If the assignments are not submitted after three classes, the student will receive a zero for that assignment.

Grading Scales

Individual assignments are graded on a 100 point scale as follows:

Nine week grades are automatically calculated using the electronic gradebook, which uses a four point scale as follows:

2.5-3.4     B
1.5-2.4     C
1.0-1.5     D
