Handwriting And Sentence Writing Go Hand In Hand
During the first six-weeks, while we are studying the alphabet, we will also be learing the correct way to make our letters. Each day will be spent writing the letter of the day properly. (Remember, beautiful handwriting takes practice at home as well as at school and it takes time to develop neat handwriting.) As we build our handwriting we will also build our ability to write good sentences. This is a year long process. By the end of the school year your child should be able to write short stories with beginning, middle, and end. They will also be learning the importance of expressive language by using adjectives in their writing.
The most important skill is puncuation. Students must remember to begin sentences with a capital letter and end sentences with the correct end marks. (. ! ?)
