Master Musicians
Fifth grade is practicing their recorders and working hard to play new songs so they can earn a karate belt.. Students need to bring their recorders and music notebooks to class each week. Please click on the section for Recorder Karate to learn more about this part of the curriculum. Recorders can be purchased for $6.00 and 3 ring 1" binders for $1. Order forms and Practice Records can be downloaded by clicking on Files on the music homepage.
The grading rubric is available to download this by clicking on FILES at the top of this page. This lets parents and students know what is expected and how grades are earned.
By the end of the 2nd nine weeks, students should have earned their 4th belt for playing the song, Great Big House. Students are also competing for chairs. The student in chair number 1 has earned the most belts. If a student is having trouble with a skill please let me know. Home practice will help build confidence in the classroom.
