Nightly Homework Suggestions

A/R  (accelerated reading)

Math facts - practice multiplication facts (there is a book available at most bookstores titled "Mathematics Made Simple".  It has been in publication for several decades - my dad used it when he returned to college after retiring from the service and was entering college.  I later bought an updated version when I began college to brush up on my basic math skills because the answers are in the back of the book PLUS it has very simple and easy examples to follow.  You may want to check into obtaining one of these from your favorite bookstore for your student to use through their highest degree.  I highly recommed it and you won't regret it.  I so highly recommed this soft covered book that if you do not like it after trying it out and find it totally useful for your or your student(s).........I WILL BUY IT FROM YOU!

Study spelling words

Write a sentence on fourth grade level.  (includes a noun, verb, adjective, subject, predicate, conjunction)  [don't forget to begin with a capital letter and end with correct punctuation mark]

Review the PARTS OF SPEECH paper once a week that your child has been given twice and I have emailed to those of you who have email.

November Math Calendar

I hope that you will take advantage of the calendar of math skills (problems) that your child can practice each night.  They do NOT have to turn it in for a grade but these skills are very, very important to understand and know with ease.  It is a wonderful way for you to be able to keep up with how well your child is absorbing and retaining math skills.....one problem per day.
