Grading
- Grading will occur on a variety of assignments including writing, discussion responses, public speaking, group work, outside reading, tests, quizzes, presentation and participation.
- It is your responsibility to keep track of your grades. If you have questions or concerns about your grades, you must see me after class or after school.
- DO NOT ASK TO SEE YOUR GRADES DURING CLASS TIME.
- Scores will be recorded into my computer/grade book and most pap ers will then be returned to you.
Assignments
- All homework assignments are due at the beginning of the period when the tardy bell rings.
- No credit for work done on spiral paper.
- No credit for work done in pencil, and only blue or black ink is permitted
- Write legibly. Typing is preferred.
- Failure to follow these guidelines could result in lower grade or assignment not accepted.
- Essays or other large assignments or projects will be assigned at least two days in advance and will be due on time at the beginning of the period whether you are present or not.
- Assignments may be emailed to ensure promptness when you are absent.
- If you are ill and cannot attend school on the day an assignment is due, it must be turned in to me before 8:00 am on the day you return to school. Absence must be excused for assignment to be accepted.

If you have further questions or concerns, see me after class or after school. You may send an e-mail message and I will respond as soon as possible. Makeup Work
- For regular daily assignments (other than projects and essays) you have as many days to make up the work as you have been “excused” for your absence.
- REMEMBER: I will not pursue you about your missed work; check the board and with other classmates. Get notes from them as well as I do not lend out my notes.
- For assignments that cannot go home, you may make them up Tuesdays in room 205 after school only but let me know in advance if you are coming and what you will need.
- Tutoring is also available on Tuesdays.
- Your absence & your assignments are your responsibility.
- NOTE TO ALL INVOLVED in cheer, drill team, student council, HOSA, Vo-Tech, athletics, band, choir, etc. Your schedule is especially demanding, but missed assignments or late work will not be excused. Be responsible. Plan ahead. When possible complete assignments before the absence for that activity.
