COURSE DESCRIPTION
Business Technology Essentials is a one-credit course designed to teach students touch keyboarding on the alphanumeric keyboard and the numeric keypad. Students will also master basic skills in the areas of word processing, database management, spreadsheet, presentation, Internet, and E-mail. Students are also offered opportunities to identify ethical issues pertaining to information systems and to gather information about careers in technology.FEE: $25.00

Student attendance is very important since class work is graded daily. Daily class work assessment will be based on student participation and individual completion of assignments and projects. Test assessment will consist of objective and production-based testing.CHEATING
I have absolutely no tolerance for cheating. If you are caught cheating, the assignment/test will be given the grade of a zero. This includes talking during a test and copying documents from one disk or computer to another.MAKE UP WORK
Make up work is the responsibility of each student, and the guidelines in the Student Handbook are strictly enforced. Students may receive a pass to come before school to make up any missed assignments.DISCIPLINE PLAN
The Jefferson County School System’s Student Code of Conduct and Rudd Middle School Rules will be the guide for student conduct in this class. If a student is displaying inappropriate behavior disciplinary action will be taken.
