Language Arts

Your student will be learning Reading strategies from a variety of sources. We will be encouraging your student to be reading every night and to finish the library books they take out each week by taking an AR test. Ask your student about their goal for AR and how many points they have earned!

Writing

Ok Class!! Here is your extra credit!! 

1. Reading is an important subject taught throughout the years.

    Before you begin writing, think about why it is important to learn how to read.

    Now explain why it is important to learn how to read.

2. You just found a six-inch gold key.

    Before you begin writing, think about an adventure that you could have with this key.

    Now tell about your adventure when you found a six-inch gold key.

3. Everyone has something that they are afraid of happening.

     Before you begin writing, think about something that you are afraid of happening.

     Now explain to the reader of your paper why you are afraid of this event happening.

4.  Today is your little sister’s birthday.  You want to buy her a special gift, but you need to earn      some money.

     Before you begin writing, think about what you could do to earn money quickly.

     Now tell about your money experience.

 

Social Studies

Florida's history is the focus of 4th grade. Throughout the year we will be integrating Social Studies into reading. At the end of the year we look forward to sharing what the students have learned during our Florida History Day.
