Introductory Letter

Dear Parents,

My name is Connie Neal, and I will be your child's language arts teacher this year. I have taught language arts for over twenty years; therefore, I have high expectations for all my students and will always challenge them to do their best. By doing a variety of activities, I will enhance their learning opportunities.

We will cover one or two state-mandated standards each week and review the standards from the previous weeks. Every week or two we will have a test over all the standards that have been taught since the beginning of the school year.

At the end of the nine weeks, we will have a comprehensive exam that will cover all standards from the entire nine weeks.  Since this test counts 25% of the report card grade, it is a very important for all students to study throughout the entire nine weeks.

If your child does not have his/her homepractice, I will write that in the agenda. He/she is still responsible for doing it. Also, each Monday in the agenda, I will record any grades from the previous weeks so that you will be able to monitor your child's progress. Please check the agenda daily.

It's going to be a great year as we work together to provide the best education for your child. Please do not hesitate to call me at school (840.3902), send a note in the agenda, or email me at nealc3@k12tn.net whenever you have a question or concern. I want your child to have a successful year.

Study Buddies

Every student needs to have two students from every class to call in the event he/she is absent. Please check with your child to make sure he/she has written those names/phone numbers in the agenda.
