Students need to review the resource handouts in their binders. We will make sure students have the handouts up to this point. Please make sure your child is reviewing these on a regular basis. Knowing the definitions of these terms and constant practice are necessary for your child to be successful in English.
Students are continuing to struggle with predicate nominatives, predicate adjectives, and direct objects because they are not looking for the verbs and determining if the verb is an action verb or a linking verb. I have asked the students to underline the verb and label its function/job. By doing this, students grades will improve.
English/Language requires students to look for all of the little details. Most of the mistakes on tests are from not reading the questions and answers carefully. Students are missing the word "NOT" in the question.
