Key Topics Covered In Class:  Today's lesson involved 3.6: Curve Sketching.  We worked on four examples in class.  Students can find a powerpoint file containing today's examples and this weekend's homework here:  3.6, Curve Sketching.ppt.  Class notes were not done on the tablet but instead were done on the white board - therefore are not included in this link.

Key Topics Covered In Class:  Today we finished our 3.5 (Horizontal Asymptote) lesson.  The notes can be found here:  3.5, Limits at Infinity (Horiz Asymptotes) (notes attached).ppt.  Once students became comfortable, we did a variety of asymptote calculations in our heads using the comparison of exponents rules. 

We also spent quite a bit of time going over the answer keys for a variety of problems: 3.4 Concavity solutions are available here:  3.4 HW Solutions.doc and 3.5 Horizontal asymptotes solutions are available here:  3.5 HW Solutions.doc.

Key Topics Covered In Class:  Today we opened class with a quizzle while I checked in the lengthy homework assignments from the last two days.  We then spent time going over the 3.4 Concavity homework.  We will focus tomorrow on #29, 31, 51, and 61. 

After lunch, we did a brief review lesson on 3.5: Horizontal Asymptotes and limits at Infinity.  Students already completed the 3.5 homework when I was out on Monday, but today's lesson was meant to reinforce the key concepts from the reading.  A copy of the slides (notes attached) can be found here: 3.5, Limits at Infinity (Horiz Asymptotes) (notes attached).ppt.

1.  Read textbook, 3.5: p. 187 - 192

2.  complete text, p. 193, #1 - 4 all, 6, 9, 12, 14, 16, 18, 34, 42, 65

3.  Find the domain, range, symmetry, intercepts, relative extrema, and points of inflection for the following problems: p. 202, #7, 19

Key Topics Covered In Class:  Today we opened class by working on a practice quiz to help us both refresh and prepare for our upcoming 3.1 - 3.3 quiz.  A copy of the practice quiz (answers attached) can be found here:  3.1 - 3.3. Practice Quiz (Answer Key).doc.  We filled out the key together as we reviewed each question.

To end class, we went over the remaining 3.3 homework which was assigned over the weekend.

Key Topics Covered In Class:  Today we opened class by working on a quizzle.  While students worked, I checked in last night's homework.  We then did a brief review of Rolle's Theorem & the Mean Value Theorem, finishing with a review of the homework from 3.2.

After lunch, we reviewed the 3.3 Part 1 homework from last night.  This took us up through the end of the class.
