k- 1st   who was their hero on their vase is?  have them point to a wavy line, then to their zig zag line.  Ask them what to Greeks put in their vases.  ("stuff"  they used them as containers.)

2nd-  Ask them to tell you how they made their carving show up.  Ask them who their hero is on their vase.  Ask them to name something we get from the ancient greeks ( columns, democracy, olympics and vases with heros on them)

3rd -Ask your child the steps it took to make their etching vase.  Ask them who their hero is on their vase.

4th-Ask your child what type of column they made (doric, ionic, Corinthian.)  Ask them the steps it took to make their column.  Ask them to remember a place they have seen a column.

5th- Ask your child what steps they took to create their still life...(finding center, proportion, sketching, highlights, shadows, details)

K-1st-  ask your child why did the church use pictures in their stained glass.  !st graders_ ask how they used symmetry to make their stained glass.

2nd- ask your child to point out what is in their background (things that are smaller)  what is in their foreground ( things that are bigger)  Point to  their horizon line ( where the sky and ground meet)

3rd- Ask your child why was there a need for the coat of arms.  how was art used to make the coat of arms.  have them show you the symbols and what they  mean.

4th- Ask your child what is an Illumination and can they tell you the 3 people who made them in medieval times. ( parchmentor, scribe, illuminator) 

5th Ask your child what was the practical use of gargoyles in the medieval  ages.
