It is my belief that education influences a person’s life a great deal. Without it, one cannot achieve to his/her greatest potential. I very strongly value education and believe it is the most powerful tool an individual can have.
I believe that every child has the potential to learn. It is my task as an educator to bring out each student’s potential. In order to do this I will assess each student’s style of learning and bring in activities to suit a variety of learning styles. I believe that a nurturing and positive environment will encourage every student’s potential.
My classroom environment will be filled with respect and positivity. My plan is to treat each student with respect and then allow the domino effect to spill that respect into peer-to-peer and teacher-to-student interactions.
I will bring a positive attitude about learning to all subjects. If I were to show negativity towards certain subjects, I may hinder students’ success in that subject area. My classroom environment will be welcoming and will give students a sense of security and safety. I value the use of bright colors and wall displays to make a classroom appealing. I believe that when students are around an environment that isvibrant this inspires student learning. To give students a sense of security and safety I will encourage open communication. I will make it very clear that a student can come to me with any issues he or she may be having. Hopefully, this will alleviate the anxiety many students have about school.
I believe I can educate individuals with the tools necessary to succeed in day-to-day situations. I want to be a teacher who makes a difference in my student’s lives. It is enjoyable to see a child’s face light up when they have learned something new or accomplished a difficult task. I value seeing a child’s mind at work. It’s quite invigorating!
