Welcome to Mrs. Hoeg's Class!

Welcome to our home on the world wide web! I'm very excited to have your children in my class. Third grade is a very important transition year for children. Your child will be gaining strategies and instruction on how to take the things that they read and apply it to their educations and lives. The focus is no longer learning to read, but on reading to learn. As this year progresses, we will be teaching numerous strategies that apply thinking and problem solving skills, rather than just producing an easy answer.

You are going to witness a wonderful transformation in your children. This year, they will become more independent learners. I can't wait for you to see the end result! Like butterflies, watch your children spread their wings and fly!

All about Mrs. Hoeg

So, what do I do when I'm not teaching third grade? I'm a wife, mother, and a sometimes actress! I am married to my husband Martin. We have one beautiful little girl, Annalise. We live in Bay St. Louis and have just purchased a new house! I have one dog, a black lab named Buddy, and a cat, Dominic.
I love musical theatre and perform with different companies on the Gulf Coast. I was most recently in Gulfport Little Theatre's production of Carousel, and will soon be playing Charlotte in KNS' production of Oliver! at the Biloxi Saenger Theatre.
My family and I love to travel and hope to return to Europe over the Thanksgiving holiday to visit my husband's family in Copenhagen, Denmark. Did you know Copenhagen is home to the Little Mermaid?
I believe that life is a never ending adventure and hope to provide an example of what can be possible. The Gulf Coast provides many opportunities in arts, sports, and academics. I hope your child might one day express an interest in their particular specialty and see just where their talents can take them!
