There are so many wonderful tools that a music teacher can use. Unfortunately, many of those tools cost money. One tool that would be a lot of fun for ALL ages is something called Boomwhackers. They are "brightly colored plastic tubes that are tuned by length to musical notes.  They are affordably priced, easy to play and lots of fun!" (from the Boomwhacker website) They can be used as accompaniment to singing as well as on their own.
