About the Program
Soar to Success is a small group reading intervention program. It uses fast pace lessons to help students accelerate their reading growth. Soar to Success can be used in conjunction with the regular classroom reading and language arts curriculum. My program this year will focus on fourth grade students. The goal of the Soar to Success program is to make every fourth grader a fluent successful reader.
Vocabulary and language development are essential to reading. The habit of using terms like "Is-We" and "thingies" is discouraged in the fourth grade. The students are encouraged to call people and items by their correct names. Poor language and grammar habits are consistently corrected by teachers.
