Mon. 8/22  Go over rules, policies, grading, seating chart, etc.  Learn ways to earn pesos.  See files.

Tues. 8/23  Learn new vocabulary for greetings, names, and how one's doing.  Practice Q & A.  Begin alphabet.

Wed. 8/24  Learn alphabet and pass off.  Learn commands.  Learn gender and articles for "the."  Learn plural rules.

Thurs.  8/25  Learn sounds the letters make.  Practice spelling.   Spelling relay.

Mon. 8/29  Label items in the classroom.  Assignment is to label 25 things at home, then turn in a list of the words with a parent signature.

Tues. 8/30 New vocabulary, do Greetings worksheet, practice classroom commands.

Wed. 8/31 Review for test.

Thurs.  9/1--  Alphabet test.  Students need to know the letters, sounds, articles (the), plurals, and classroom commands.  Begin numbers.

Mon.   Labor Day

Tues. 9/6--Begin learning the numbers.  Play Bingo and Caracoles.  Students will need to memorize the numbers from 1-100 and by 100's to 1000.  Practice numbers using "Cuantos ____ hay en la clase?"

Wed.  9/7  Map instructions.  Learn countries and capitals.

Thurs. 9/8  Review numbers.  Countries and capitals.  Compete in math competition.  Learn informal/formal communication.  Maps due.

Mon. 9/12  New vocabulary for calendar.  Begin calendars.  Drill and practice.  Q &A.

Wed 9/14  Learn Spanish songs "Uno de Enero," " Hoy es Lunes"  Cuando es...?  Review for countries quiz.  Journal #1

Tues. 9/20  Students learn to tell time in Spanish using the traditional and digital ways.  Students learn the personal pronouns and complete the pronouns and clock worksheets.

Wed. 9/21 Correct clock worksheet. Q&A  Cuando es. . .? Review holidays.  View video on names and places and alphabet. 

Thurs. 9/22  Students learn the body parts and play "Simon dice."  Students learn the weather conditions and what the weather is like in the seasons.  Begin Chpt. O worksheets

Thurs. 9/29  Personal introductions (students give 10 sentences orally to the class about themselves.  No notes.  Play pictionary with new vocab.

Week 7 Assignments

 

Mon. Oct 3  New vocabulary (p.70).  Add up all vocab and journals and turn in.  Write Journal # 4 "Como eres?"  Finish up personal introductions.

Tues. Oct 4  Drill and practice new vocab.  "What are you like and why?"  Partner practice pp56-57  Actividades 8, 9, 11.

Wed. Oct 5  Play charades

 

 Cultural Food Day.  Students make and bring in an authentic Hispanic food dish.  Include the recipe.  This is the only day to do this project.  Cultural Trivia questions.

 

Weeks 8-12 Assignments Oct 10-Nov 15

Mon.  Oct 10Review vocab.  Q&A.   Do exercises on pp. 54, 62  Actividades 5, 6, 19.  Write a Diamond Poem--See file for instructions.  Do a class mingle asking/answering questions.

Tues. Oct 11  Review vocab playing Roshambo.  Writing assignments--pp 55.  Write a sentence for each adjective with a plural subject; make the adjectives adgree.  Ex = Mark y Maria son artisticos.

Wed. Oct 12  Review 3rd person.   Introduce classmates in groups using Mingle worksheet.  Write 6 sentences about 10 family members or friends.  Make family album.  Include yourself.  Watch genders on adjectives.

Thurs. Oct 13  Go to PHSchool.com on the internet and type in codes jcd-o1o2  thru jcd-0105 and jcd-0111 thru jcd-0115 and complete the activities.  Record your results and turn in.

 Mon.  Oct 17  View and Listen to video and Videohistoria pp. 28 & 54.  Begin chpt 1 worksheets.
