The annual BMS spelling bee was held December 10, 2007.  The winners were:

1st Place - Jacque Travis and 2nd Place - Audrey Abel.

They will both advance to the county-wide spelling bee in January.

***Update***

BMS swept the county-wide spelling bee this year!  Audrey Abel won first place with the word "molecular" and Jacque Travis took second place.   Audrey will now compete in the Mid-South Spelling Bee March 1st.

Audrey Abel went on to finish in 4th place at the Mid-South Spelling Bee.

7th graders dominated the BMS spelling bee this year.  Audrey Abel was our 1st place winner with Justin White coming in 2nd.

County Results

Audrey went on to finish 3rd place in the county bee.

The Brighton Middle School Annual Spelling Bee was held January 13.  The 1st place winner was 6th grader Audrey Abel.  2nd place went to 7th grader Logan Kirby.  Both students will advance to the Tipton County Spelling Bee to be held January 20.

County Results

I am proud to announce that Audrey Abel finished second in the Tipton County spelling bee.  She was beaten by last year's champion (an 8th grader ) who also placed 4th in the region.  Congratulations to Audrey and good luck next year!!!
