Mrs. Strickland’s Third Grade Class Information

Arrival:  Students should arrive ready to get to work.  We start the day with morning work.  After the first quarter, completion of morning work will be counted towards the effort mark on the report card.

Homework:  There will be homework every night except Fridays. Readingfor 20 minutes every night is required homework.  Many nights there will be a reading response question to be answered in relation to what your child has read.  Parents please sign your child’s agenda every night.  After the first quarter, completion of homework will count towards the effort mark on the report card.

Birthdays:  Please feel free to celebrate your child’s birthday with the class.  A simple snack is welcome.  Summer birthdays (including the August birthdays) may be celebrated on the half birthday or at the end of the year.  Birthday party invitations may NOT be given out at school unless every child in the class is receiving an invitation.

Star of the Week:  Information will be sent home the week before to be filled out and returned.  On Thursday of the week your child is the star, he/she may bring in one item for show and tell.

Class motto (rule):  I’m Third.  If we remember to put Jesus first and others second in our thoughts, words, and actions, we will be choosing to do the right thing.

Specials:  Monday – PE

                Tuesday – music, Spanish

                Wednesday – guidance (once a month), library

                Thursday – art, Spanish

Friday – mass (once winter uniforms start, students wear the sweater to mass)
