October Lessons--Ask your fourth grader!
This month, we are doing some beginning notation reading. We read the book Freddie the Frog and the Thump in the Night which introduced us to the notes of the treble clef staff. Ask your child about Freddie's adventures!
We are learning the notes of the Treble clef to get ready to begin recorder instruction soon. Look for a blue packet explaining recorder instruction in the coming weeks.
Classes will be having "Popsicle Parties" during the month of October as soon as they earn 20 good behavior points.
During the month of September, we learned Patriotic Songs. We learned some traditional songs and some newer songs from our textbook and other sources. Ask your child about the songs we learned and discuss with them what being a "Patriot" means.
