First graders are going to be very busy in music this year. They will be singing and moving every week, playing instruments and learning lots of new songs. I am going to be focusing on traditional folk songs this year-songs that we learned as kids, but that often get overlooked in our high-tech world. Make sure you ask your child what new song they have learned and sing along with them if you remember it!
