Class Info

7th grade math has changed a lot since last year.  This year, we will be using the Common Core Standards, which are used on a national level, not just state.  This curriculum bring more focus to teaching the students less topics or objectives, but teaching them very in depth.

Checking Your Child's Grades

How to check grades

You may now go to the Parent Communication website to check your child's grades. If you have not logged on before, you will need to register as a new user. The PSN is the last 5 digits of your child's social security number as the password.

The "Progress" tab gives you individual grades in each subject. The "Grades" tab will only give you class averages.

Please feel free to email me if you have any questions.

Accelerated Math

Please encourage your child to work on Acc Math everyday!

Accelerated Math is a computerized math program that allows all students to master the necessary math skills they need to be successful. Accelerated Math is a self-paced program that allows them to work as quickly or slowly as they need to be successful. This program works by allowing your child to work continually on practices until they have mastered the skill, they will then be printed a test and the objective will be considered "mastered".

Accelerated Math is an ongoing program; there should never be a night that your child has "no homework" . Students are encouraged to scan throughout the day, and should scan before they leave school each day so they have new work before they come home. Acc Math practices should take approximately 30-40 min. a night to complete. If you notice that it is taking your child longer, this is a good indication that they are having problems in Math.
