1. Introduce myself and get to know students, complete “Quién Soy” survey.
2. Go over class expectations/consequences
3. Hand out syllabus and information sheet.
4. Brainstorm in groups, What is culture? and put together a chart.
Tarea (homework): Complete Information sheet and be sure it is signed by you and your parent or guardian and return to me ASAP or by Friday.

Warm-up: Journal writing
1. Go over charts, and compare, modify.
2. Briefly discuss the culture comparison project.
3. Introduce the new vocabulary to be used for the unit. Look for cognates and define.
4. Review the verbs ser and estar. Take notes on acronyms used to memorize use of ser and estar. If time allows do a relay game.
