Holiday Reading Assignment

CD Book Report

WeekendHomework:  Work on your CD Book Report and be reading for your Holiday (Classic) Reading.  See above attachments.

Book Report Due November 18.  See #7 in your notebook. This is the CD book report, not the Holiday Reading project.

Holiday Reading should be completed by December 16. Read a classic book and be ready to complete a project in class on December 16. I will provide all of the materials for the project. You just need to read the book and be ready to do the project on the due date.  See the attachment on this page.

Notice:  Language arts tutoring will be offered each Wednesday from 6:45 a.m. to 7:10 a.m.  Parents should let me know by 2:30 on Tuesday if tutoring is needed in a particular language arts area. This is so I can gather materials that might be helpful.

Monthly Reading Log

Every month, students should document that they have read a minimum of 16 hours. Textbook reading is not included. However, students may use book report books and books being read toward the yearly 25-book goal. As additional help, students may log in some of their reading time during school.  For example, if students are given 20 minutes during DAT to read, they may use this time. Preferably, students will be documenting that they are reading outside of class. However, we will make some modifications. Student should NOT be reading when a lesson is being taught or when an assignment has been made! The reading log will be turned in on the last school day of each month. The first due date is Monday, August 31, 2009.
