Hola! My name is Adrian Tristan and I was born in Galveston, TX about three decades ago. I am an only child. I attended Parker Elementary from Kinder through fourth grade as a pelican. I then became an owl at Weiss Intermediate school for fifth and sixth grade where Mr. High, my science teacher, inspired me to become a teacher. It was in 5th here where I started playing alto saxophone. I then attended Central Middle school as a bobcat for 7th and 8th grade where I continued playing saxophone. I then attended one year at Ball High as a tornado and marched in the band. My parents bought a house in Dickinson, TX and I continued as a gator at Dickinson High School. I marched alto sax where we won the 4A State marching contest and played baritone sax during concert band where we won the prestigious Honor Band award for Texas.
After graduating, I packed my belongings and headed to Austin, TX to become a Longhorn at the University of Texas. I was selected to march in the Longhorn Marching Band and played tenor sax in the basketball band and jazz band. I began my college career in aerospace engineering, then computer science, and finally into education. I graduated in 2000 with a certification to teach early childhood through 4th grade and later certified to teach 6th - 12th Spanish secondary. I began teaching first grade shortly there after and have been teaching 1st grade bilingual for 6 years here at Copperfield.
During my tenure at Copperfield, I have been the web master for 4 years and the program coordinator for the 21st Century after-school program for 3 years. I also purchased my first house in Pflugerville where I live with my girl, Zoe, (a Jack Russell Terrier). I also began my Master's degree in Educational Administration in January at Concordia University and will graduate in December 2008. My plan is to become a Principal then later teach under-graduate classes at the college level for in-coming teachers. In August, I engaged to my girlfriend, Eva, on a cruise to the Caribbean. We are planning for an August 2008 wedding. Eva is pursuing her Bachelor's degree at Texas State University to become an elementary school teacher and will finish in December 2008.
My hobbies include a new found interest in gerbil cage building and designing. I enjoy singing Karaoke songs on my PS2 and spending time with family and friends. I am a fan of college football and a true orange-blood Longhorn fan! I also enjoy working on my yard and going for walks with Eva and Zoe. My favorite TV shows are The Office, Chuck, and anything UT related. I enjoy listening to alternative music, classical music, and everything in between. My passion is traveling and I enjoy visiting places like New York, Yellowstone, California, Cozumel, Jamaica, and Grand Cayman. My heart is in education and the children are our future.
I am now married to my beautiful wife, Eva Tristan, and together we great team. It is something special to have 2 teacher perspectives in everything that is life.
