I will send home a packet that will be due on Thursday, November 19th. We will review the packet before testing on Friday.
Here's a fun game to play at home. I hope you enjoy it!
1. Remove the face cards from a deck of playing cards. Leave in the aces as they will count as "1" in the addition sentences.
2. Each player gets six cards and the rest of the deck is placed faced down. 3. Players take turns asking each other for cards that, when combined with a card in their hand, will equal 10, (e.g., Player 1 has a 3 in his hand and asks Player 2 for a 7) . 4. If the player makes a combination of ten, those cards are placed on the table. A new card is drawn from the deck and that player’s turn is over. 5. If the player does not make a combination, then one card is picked up from the deck. 6. If the player draws the card he or she requested, the player can put down the matching pair, and then the turn is over. 7. The game is over when there are no more cards left in the deck. 8. At the end of the game each player makes a list of the combinations of ten that he/she collected.
