Week of November 9 - 13
Hola Estudiantes:
Please remember what I said in class last week...You MUST use the target language in class. This is an AP/V Honors level class, and we should be using Spanish 100% of the time. By this time, you should not be afraid to speak the language and the more you use it ,the better you will get. And if you are preparing for the AP Exam in the Spring, it will only be to your benefit to practice as much as possible. What should you be doing outside of class to practice??? You should be watching Spanish television at least 20 minutes everyday. Listen to Spanish radio and Spanish music CD's. Rent Spanish speaking movies! When you get together with friends that speak Spanish, USE THE LANGUAGE!!
Para esta semana...
- We started our Literature Series on Latin America with the first of several literature fragments - "Me llamo Rigoberta Menchú, y así me nació la conciencia." We are going to explore the political and social climates surrounding Latin America. These readings can be challenging at times. It is CRUCIAL that you do the Pre-reading at home when I assign them in order to be prepared in class. Please, please, please study the Vocabulary words and expressions and the Essential questions. And it is CRUCIAL that you participate in the reading and discussion questions in class. Everyone needs to be an active participant in an upper level class.
