The Wolcott Tech Boy’s Volleyball Team opened their season with a victory over Kolbe Cathedral from Bridgeport. The Wildcat’s put together a new line-up to account for injuries from two of their starters and remained focused on the game to earn the victory.

 Setter Luke Pepper had 14 assists, 2 kills, 7 digs; Outside Brandon Murphy had 10 aces, 6 kills; Middle Hitter Kevin Fogarty had 3 aces, 4 kills; Outside Hitter Harkin Foster had 1 ace, 8 kills, 7 digs; and Josh Gangloff has 3 kills. Stepping in the court for the first time adding great offense and defense was Ryan Bishop, Ryan Lojewski, Taegan Murphy, Dan Tyrrell, Craig Waibel, and Evan Gazso.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff were pleased that the team was able to earn a victory on the opening game.

After an hour delay in the game start due to travel issues, the jv team stepped onto the court and jumped out to an early lead against a very good passing team of Kolbe. We look forward to the challenge of Bloomfield HS tomorrow and working on our offensive plays.

The Wolcott Tech Boy’s Volleyball Team finished the week with a record of 2-0, defeating Bloomfield HS at the Wolcott Tech Gym.

 The starting squad of Luke Pepper, Josh Gangloff, Harkin Foster, Brandon Murphy, Kevin Fogarty, Taegan Murphy, Ryan Bishop, and Ryan Lojeski brought a great offensive game and some great serving to earn the first set.

 The freshman team stepped onto the court as a team for the first time today with players Mike Dinice, Craig Waibel, Dan Tyrrell, Ryan Lojewski, Taegan Murphy, Matt Dell’Agnese, Evan Gazso, and Ryan Bishop. All the players did a great job for their first time on the court with a close game of 26-24. The team never lost their court presence and fought hard for the win.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff were pleased that the team was able to earn a victory on the opening game.

The team remained focused and performed well on the court. The coaching staff wishes the entire Wolcott Tech Volleyball Family a restful vacation and a nice holiday.

 The Wolcott Tech Boy’s Volleyball Team continued their winning streak with a victory over Oxford HS at the Wolcott Tech Gym.

 Setter Luke Pepper had 10 assists; Josh Gangloff had 5 kills, 8 digs; Taegan Murphy had a great defensive game; Harkin Foster had 2 aces, 4 kills, and great serving; Brandon Murphy had 4 kills; playing well defensively was Ryan Bishop, Craig Waibel, Matt Dell’Agnese, Dan Tyrrell, Evan Gazso. Kevin Fogarty added 2 kills, and Ryan Lojewski had 1 kill.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff was pleased that the team can off of a slower paced practice to regain their court confidence to perform well enough to earn the victory.

 The Wolcott Tech Wildcats play Norwich Free Academy on Wednesday, April 17, 2012 with a 4:30 jv start, followed by varsity.

The Wolcott Tech Boy’s Volleyball Team continued their winning streak with a victory over Kolbe HS at the Kolbe Cathedral Gym.

 Kolbe Cathedral graciously offered to play a freshman game before the jv game, and we gladly accepted the offer. The freshman team has been working very hard and has been rewarded with valuable court time against a worthy opponent. Playing well for Wolcott Tech was Ryan Bishop, Ryan Lojewski, Mike Dinice, Evan Gazso, Matt Dell’Agnese, Craig Waibel, Derek Zenobia, Taegan Murphy and Dan Tyrrell. The Wolcott Tech coaching staff is very impressed with the efforts, enthusiasm, and court presence.

 The JV Team played a great game against a tough defensive minded Kolbe squad. The Wildcats rebounded after a slow start in game one and kept their focus on the game to find themselves with another victory.

 Setter Luke Pepper had 13 assists, 3 kills, 2 aces; Josh Gangloff had 6 kills, 10 digs; Harkin Foster had 3 aces, 6 kills; Brandon Murphy had 6 kills; Kevin Fogarty had 2 kills, 1 ace and Trevor Brown had 4 kills. Adding quality court were freshman Ryan Bishop, Matt Dell’Agnese, Ryan Lojewski, Derek Zenobia, Mike Dinice, Evan Gazso, Craig Waibel, Taegan Murphy and Dan Tyrrell.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff was pleased that the team can off of a slow paced first game and came together about halfway thru the game to regain our normal court composure. This effort continued into the second game and allowed the team to remain undefeated so far this season. Everyone is impressed with the efforts of these players

 Setter Luke Pepper had 23 assists, 2 kills, 2 aces, 14 digs; Outside Brandon Murphy had 6 kills, 4 digs, 2 aces; Middle Hitter Kevin Fogarty had 2 kills, 4 blocks; Outside Hitter Harkin Foster had 4 kills, 3 aces, 12 digs; and Josh Gangloff has 4 kills, 10 digs; and Outside hitter Trevor Brown had 10 kills. Adding quality time to the court was Matt Dell’Agnese, Evan Gaszo, and Ryan Bishop.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff were pleased that the team able to overcome a 4 point deficit to run a 9 point rally to stop Farmington in its track to prevent a third game. This was the best jv match of the year and in the word of Josh Gangloff, “thanks to the varsity team for preparing us for our games, we have to overcome point deficits every day in practice”. We look forward to playing Simsbury on Wednesday.

 Wolcott Tech’s record goes to 6-0.

 The Wolcott Tech Boy’s Volleyball Team jumped back onto the court after a four day layoff from volleyball due to the loss of a friend. Lewis Mills was a quality opponent.

 Setter Luke Peppper had 32 assists, 4 kills, 17 digs; Outside Hitter Harkin Foster had 12 kills, 20 digs; Trevor Brown had 5 kills, 8 digs; Matt Dell’Agnese added great defense to the back row with 12 digs; Taegan Murphy brought consistent and great serving along with 4 huge digs; Ryan Lojewski had 5 kills, 2 blocks; Josh Gangloff had 5 kills, 1 block, 11 digs; Brandon Murphy had 11 kills, 4 digs; and Evan Gaszo had some great digs in the back row.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff were pleased that the team showed great resiliency in game two being down 1 to 10 and closed the game to 19-25. In game three we were down 12-6 and Taegan Murphy’s serves brought us into the lead at 14-12.

 Wolcott Tech’s record goes to 7-1.

 The Wolcott Tech Boy’s Volleyball Team worked on a new lineup in anticipation of several absences over the next several days and jelled together to secure the win.

 Setter Luke Pepper had 21 assists, 6 digs; Josh Gangloff had 5 kills, 5 digs; Harkin Foster had 6 aces, 5 kills, 6 digs; Brandon Murphy had 10 kills, 4 aces; Trevor Brown had 5 kills; Matt Dell’Agnese had 3 aces; Ryan Bishop improved his passing and back row play, and Evan Gaszo had 2 digs and great serving confidence.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff was pleased that the team can adapt to the new lineup and are proud of the positive manner in which the jv and freshman team are developing. They are getting better at defense and offense every day and will make a great varsity team.

 The Wolcott Tech Boy’s Volleyball Team avenged their previous loss with a victory over Lewis Mills HS at the Wolcott Tech Gym.

 The JV Team played a great game against cross town rivals Lewis Mills.  The Wildcats controlled the court and kept their focus on the game to find themselves with another victory.

 Setter Luke Pepper had 25 assists, 2 kills, 11 digs; Josh Gangloff had 7 digs; Harkin Foster had 6 kills, 13 digs; Brandon Murphy had 8 kills, 2 aces; Kevin Fogarty had 3 kills, and Trevor Brown had 5 kills. Adding quality court were freshman Ryan Bishop, Matt Dell’Agnese with 8 digs each.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff was pleased that the team was able to execute several stacks, and vary their offensive attack. The JV team would like to thank the freshman squad for pushing them in practice, as this is a program win, not just a jv win. We are looking forward to practice tomorrow to prepare for Wethersfield on Thursday.

 The Wolcott Tech Boy’s Volleyball Team adapted to yet another change in the line-up, struggled in game one, and regained their court composure to beat Simsbury High School.

 Setter Luke Pepper had 32 assists, 3 kills, 5 aces, 8 digs; Harkin Foster had 9 kills, 3 aces, 17 digs; Taegan Murphy had 11 digs with much improved passing and serving; Brandon Murphy had 9 kills, 2 aces, 5 digs; Josh Gangloff had 3 kills, 7 digs; Evan Gaszo had 5 digs; Ryan Bishop had 6 digs; Craig Waibel had 1 kill, 3 digs; Ryan Lojewski had 4 kills and 2 blocks; Kevin Fogarty had 3 blocks and 2 kills.

 The Simsbury HS Coaching Staff graciously played a freshman game, adding valuable court time for our younger players. Dan Tyrrell, Ryan Lojewski, Taegan Murphy, Mike Denice, Craig Waibel, Ryan Bishop, and Evan Gaszo all played a great game.

 The Wolcott Tech coaching staff was pleased that the jv team was able to come back after being down 0-1 after the first game. The key element was their support for each other on the court, pumping each up after every play.
