Use the following guidelines for submitting quotes. Failure to follow these guidelines will result in removal of any quote without notification.

• All words must be written in standard English (“to” not “2”)
• Quote must utilize appropriate language for a school publication (no profanity or gang-related messages) and must be limited to 15 words or less
•  Quotes must identify the original speaker – no speaker identified, no quote  (Example: “To be or not to be” ~ Shakespeare’s Hamlet)

Please use the following guidelines:

¨       We recommend avoiding sending original photographs. We cannot guarantee that your photos will be returned or that they will remain in the same condition in which you submitted them.

¨       Digital photographs must be in jpeg, gif, or tiff format – you may send them on a CD or email them to mcole@rjuhsd.us

¨       Do NOT send photos you have scanned and printed. We need to scan them again, which produces a poor-quality photo. It is best to email photos (or submit them on disk) if you have scanned them.

¨       Do not cut your pictures to fit a certain shape or to eliminate other people in the photograph.  We will crop your photos to include a close-up of your face.

¨       Drop off photos to the Student Services window (place them in an envelope with your name on it put it in the Senior Quote box) or take them to room 403 after school.

GENERAL INFORMATION

Most students at RHS use Bill Smith Photography for their senior photos.  Although students are NOT required to use this photographer, it is the easiest route. BSP  contracts directly with RHS, so you can be assured that your photos will appear in the yearbook. 

If you choose to use your own photographer, you must contact the yearbook advisor (mcole@rjuhsd.us) to get the photography criteria.

FEES FOR PHOTOS

When you set up your appointment with BSP, there is a $15 sitting fee. In addition, there is a deposit that is refunded when you return your proofs.  The photographers take several poses of each student. At that point, the family can choose to purchase all, some, or none of the photos.  The deposit is put toward the cost of the photo packet. If the family choose not to purchase any of the photos, the deposit is refunded.

If a student cannot afford the sitting fee, it is possible to waive it by contacting the yearbook advisor (mcole@rjuhsd.us).  Keep in mind, these students will NOT receive proofs of their photos, but they can be assured that their photo will appear in the yearbook.  RHS & BSP wants to make sure all students are represented in the yearbook.
