RULES:
1) First LISTEN, LISTEN, LISTEN! I always begin my lesson with clear instructions for the day's lesson and goals for the week.
If you don't listen, you miss out!
2) Mind your Manners!
3) Treat Others as You Would Like to be Treated by Them!
4) Be a TEAM PLAYER! Help your classmates whenever possible.
5) Stay Organized!
Social Studies Folder needs to be neat and organized and brought to class every day. (Graded every 9 weeks!)
Bring plenty of sharpened pencils and 2 red pens at all times!
5) Be Responsible with your Work! Have it ready on time!
In the case of an emergency, bring a signed note from a parent explaining why you need an extra day to complete.
( Absence(s) due to illness or death in the family will always automatically allow you time to makeup.)
HOMEWORK PROCEDURES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
1) Students need to copy daily assignments in their agendas.
All assignments are to be completed/finished over the weekend and are due the first day of the following week. ( usually Mondays)
2) Social Studies Folders are needed in class each day. They will get a GRADE for their folder each grading period. THEY WILL USE THEIR FOLDER TO PREPARE FOR MIDTERM AND FINAL EXAMS, so all work must stay in the folder.
Do NOT throw away their magazines or handouts, they will need them in their folders.
3) Handwriting: Students need to write neatly! (I suggest handwriting practice at home if your child's handwriting is poor.) If I cannot read it, I will not be able to grade it appropriately. Please help me and your child improve their handwriting skills.
4) Computer Map Skills Practice: (6th Grade Only)
Students will be responsible to practice their map skills weekly. (Computer play time is a fun way of learning specific map skills, however, if you don't have a computer your child may still practice their map skills using the Atlas in their Social Studies textbook or any other map.)
