We reading Touching Spirit Bear . This will be our final novel and will be read in class. There is an out of class personal narrative assignament. Students received this assignment on 5-22. It will be due on 5-30.
Non Fiction Unit: To Be A Slave The Journal Project
Each student will be required to keep notations in two-column note style. Students will then use these notes to construct a seven part journal. There will be an entry in the journal for each of the seven chapters. A writing prompt will be given for each entry and ideas will be drafted on the two-column note sheets.
Your journal should have a front and back cover and may be as creatively decorated as you want it to be. Materials such as construction paper, cardboard, etc. may be used to cover the journal. Be sure to include your name on the cover and keep all entries secured inside the journal.
Journals will be collected and checked half way through the novel and then again at the end of the novel.
