Mrs. Martin

Mrs. Martin's 7th Grade Math Class

Welcome to a new and exciting school year.  I am excited to be part of your child's middle school experience at McCourt Middle School.  I believe an open line of communication with parents/guardians is an essential part of being an effective educator.  If you have any questions or concerns feel free to email me at christine.martin@cumberlandschools.org or call the school at 725-2092.

Each class period we will start with a quick warm-up to engage students with the current lesson.  For the first month our warm-up lesson will be looking at our summer NECAP math packet.  We will be correcting and discussing the answers to their packet.  This will help students get ready for NECAP testing that takes place in October.

Students will be assigned homework and it will be reviewed on a regular basis.  Quizzes will be given after each section is completed and tests will be given after each unit is completed.   Some units will also have projects.

Again, if you have any questions or concerns please email me or call the school.  I am looking forward to a fantastic school year!!

Classroom Expectations

Be Ready to Learn:

Students need to be prepared for class.  They should have their covered textbook, purple notebook, purple folder, pencils, agenda, and calculator.

Be Responsible:

Complete homework before class...not during it, when we are reviewing the work or after it, when it may have less relevance.  Use the tools given to you, such as study guides and outlines, to help you succeed.  Be an active learner by participating in class, paying attention to the activities in the classroom, and taking pride in your work.

Be Respectful to others in the classroom:

This includes the teacher and other students.  We encourage students to be active participants in the classroom...We want them to share their ideas and their thinking, but in appropriate ways and not at the expense of others.  We may discover different ideas or opinions about any given topic.
