Hello to all:
We had a good past week. Our class was very well behaved, and they worked hard and with much cooperation.
On Thursday, the students enjoyed a Veteran's Day presentation that was very heartwarming. I saw one young man stand up to shake the hand of an older soldier as if to to say "thanks for all you did."
The students made a lower fat version of nachos, and this recipe turned out to be pretty tasty. The fresh tomatoes added a nice flavor to the dish. The lower-fat cheese melted nicely. We talked again about microwave safety.
Our students were asked to decorate ornaments for the Berwyn train depot tree. The ornaments turned out just beautifully. We might ask the families for permission so that we can take a 2 block walk to see the tree (and our ornaments) when it is decorated.
When you have a chance, please speak to your students about respecting other peoples' personal space. We are concentrating on keeping one's hands to one's self.
There will be NO school on Wednesday, 11/23/11 through Friday, 11/25/11 due to the Thanskgiving holiday.
