Information-BOOK REPORTS
Last updated February 1st, 2012 at 3:55 p.m.

All students are required to read one book per card marking and do a presentation about the book. Books must be appropriate for 8th graders! Folders are kept in the room and students need to log the books in during warm-up time or when their class work is complete. Due dates for each card marking are posted in class and on this website. . *** Students must pick a new genre each card marking.
REPORTS MUST BE IN INK OR TYPED.
FICTION BOOK- complete the form as it is. Don't forget the genre. IT IS MORE THAN JUST "FICTION" OR "NONFICTION".
NONFICTION BOOK-the top should look just like the fiction report, but make sure you fill out the rest with complete sentences.
See me for poetry, how-to books or books like the CHICKEN SOUP books.
STILL UNSURE? ASK!
DUE DATE & Information
Last updated February 1st, 2012 at 3:57 p.m.
Book report for the third card marking is due by WEDNESDAY, MARCH 21, 2012. This is the LAST date the book report will be accepted for credit. Students have almost the entire card marking to work on this "form" book report and turn it in. Presentation dates for the card marking will be posted in class. Book reports are worth 15 points and the presentation is worth 15 points. Please plan ahead and be prepared to select your date to present. PRESENTATION DATES ARE MARCH 19 to 22, 2012. Fourth card marking presentations are differrent because of the Washington trip . Sign up will be in class and students will write the dates in their planners.
Book report forms have been copied by the students in class. There is one form for fiction and one for nonfiction. Please make sure your book is appropriate for an 8th grader. The students have also copied the requirements for their presentations. IT WAS STRONGLY SUGGESTED THAT THEY COPY THE INFORATION INTO THEIR PLANNERS, SO THEY WOULD ALWAYS KNOW WHERE IT IS.
THE FORMS ARE ALSO LOCATED ON THIS WEBSITE AND CAN BE DOWNLOADED.
You need to read a vartiety of genre this year. We all get caught in a rut reading things that we like, but in order to broaden our scope and reading experience, we must read a variety of genre. This will be a huge help to you as you continue to prepare for high school.
