1. Students will be given one sheet of hall passes for each semester. It is the responsibility of the student to keep up with these.
2. All assignments must be completed in class or during tutorials. No outside work allowed.
3. Cheating is not allowed. Students will receive a 0 for the assignment and a call home will be made. Also, the appropriate administrator will be notified.
4. Students must not log off until the bell rings. Students are expected to work from bell to bell.
5. If students are late to class, they must report immediately to the tardy table. Excuses for being tardy are unacceptable without a pass from a Bowie staff member.
6. Tutorial Policy:
Tutorials are offered: M-F (8:10-8:40), T and Th.(4:15-4:45)
7. Grading Policy:
Tests and Projects count 20% and Daily Work counts 80%. All class work will have an impact on the six weeks average each six weeks, which means students should complete all class assignments on time. Students may retake tests and quizzes one time for up to an 80. Grades are posted in class and on Gradespeed. Grades will not be rounded up due to the number of assignments given and the opportunity to complete extra credit. Students will be given plenty of time to complete projects in and out of class. Tutorials are recommended for students that are behind on class work. No incompletes will be given for six weeks grades.
8. Make Up Work Policy:
In BCIS, as with all Bowie CTE courses, due dates for makeup work resulting from EXCUSED absence(s) will be extended for three school days from the date of student's return to school, after which time the late work policy will apply. For UNEXCUSED absences, the late work procedure will apply immediately.
9. LATE WORK POLICY:
In BCIS, as with all Bowie CTE courses late work not completed and turned in by the assigned due date will be accepted for partial credit for three school days. Maximum scores for late work will be 85 after one day, 70 after two days and 50 after three days. No late work will be accepted beyond this time frame.
10. LEAVING CLASS POLICY:
Students must be in class so they can learn. No student will be allowed to leave class to go see the counselor, principal, another teacher, or any other member of the Bowie staff without a pass from the person they want to see. The only exception is going to the nurse for medication or sickness.
11. ON THE JOB TRAINING POLICY:
Students in this program must give me a copy of their original work schedule each week. If students do not follow this policy, then they will be written up for skipping class.
12. Students may not leave class the first 15 minutes or last 15 minutes unless they have a note from a Bowie staff member via school policy.
Supplies Needed for Class: Please have these by next Monday, August, 31,2009.
2 inch binder, 1 set of dividers, blue/black pens, mechanical pencils, and notebook paper. A school assignment agenda would be helpful, but it is not required. The notebook will be kept in class and all class materials will be kept in this notebook. Students are expected to keep their notebooks organized. A grade for the notebook will be given twice each six weeks. (Notebook Sections: Syllabus, Assignment Sheet, Handouts, Log-In/Daily Routine, and Misc.)
