Spelling Tests
We have started Spelling!!! Lists will be stapled in your students Agenda on Mondays and quizzes will be on Fridays. Please help your child study at home so they can be successful on their quizzes. We will spend 10-15 minutes a day reviewing spelling words, their sounds, and their meanings; however this may not be enough for your child. Also, you can access Miss Nelson's spelling lists on SpellingCity.com through my blog (click on the page: Cool Links for Learning).
**Please note: In the event of a short (3 or fewer days) week, we WILL NOT have a spelling list or quiz!!!
**BONUS: Students can work on earning extra recess! Beginning in October, parents, if you write a note that you have helped your child practice their spelling words in any way (including accessing SpellingCity.com at home) your child can earn 5 minutes of extra recess per week. At the end of each month students can redeem their extra recess minutes for some more play time. Please Note: One note from home =5 minutes and students can only earn 5 minutes a week. Minutes will be redeemed for an extra recess (either 0, 5, 10, 15, or 20 minutes long) on the last Friday (or last school day) of each month.
