Reminder about plant assignment

A picture of a plant (brought to class), a picture of a plant e-mailed to me, a picture of a plant brought in on a flash drive or an actual live plant is due tomorrow.  This was assigned last Monday.  Remember that you have to be able to identify if the plant is non-vascular or vascular, seedless or seed plant and you must know the name of the plant.

There are some on-line field guide resouces listed below.  You do not need to read the next paragraph if you are done with this assignment.

Now of course there are not any seventh graders that would do this Wink but if you waited until the last minute and you snapped a picture AND you have the misfortune of not knowing what the plant is,  please do not spend hours looking through all the pictures to find your plant.  However, if you are in the above unfortunate category, please bring in a note from a parent that you spent at least 20 minutes with these on-line  field guides to identify the plant.

Chapter test on Plants on Thursday

Draft abstract for Science Fair due on Friday*

Homework

Monday night - page 266 #1-8

Tuesday night - work on the draft abstract

Wednesday night - Study for the chapter test

Reminder - This portfolio has several assignments that were classwork and homework that we did not grade.  This means that not only will the portfolio grade be lower for the missing assignment(s), but you may receive a zero for the assignment.  I have been checking everyday and have seen that all students seemed to have all their work done on Friday, lets make sure we make a list and have the proof for me to give grades!

Thursday night - Draft Abstract

* We will compare examples of abstracts in class.  Students will be directed to write as much as they can for the draft abstract.  In the case of a student who has not progressed very far my sympathies are with you.  It is still possible to do the abstract by writing the introduction, your hypothesis, your procedure (do not write "I am going to do this" but "I did this" even if you have yet to perform the procedure.  It will save you time when you edit for your final draft) and then you will have your results and conclusions left for the final abstract.
