What We Are Learning
Reading:
Hill: Our class is currently reading "Sign of the Beaver". It is a story about a young boy in 1760s America. He must stay behind and protect the family homestead while his father goes and gets the family and brings them through the wilderness. It is a difficult time for Matt. He has many adventures and befriends an Indian tribe that help him survive.
Following this book, we will work on some reading skills such as similes, metaphors and idioms before we start our next novel.
