**** WEST POINT TRIP CONFIRMED for April Vacation, 4/16-4/18, 2010! ****
REMINDER THAT $20 deposit due by Jan. 20 to hold a spot for you; Ellis con workers need only a $10 deposit; balance & permission slips will be available once we know who is going to plan for rooms, chaperones and can determine total expenses.
**NOTE: Deposit for West Point extended to Wed, Feb. 10 as the date was just confirmed by West Point, and therefore the explanation letters to parents sent out on Jan.21.
WEST POINT TRIP: Club members who wish to go to West Point need to stay, or already have stayed for two afterschool meetings playing the whole time so they are used to long-games as theWest Point conference is a fifteen (15) hour game conference. The deposit for the trip is $20 (or $10 if they worked at Ellis Con). The date is the second weekend of April vacation (Friday 4/16 to Sunday 4/18).
The club voted that deposits be in by Activity Day on January 20 NOW FEB 10, so we can plan on how many vehicles, rooms and chaperones and determine the final price.
Club members need to have a club t-shirt ($8) and have attended and played two LONG afterschool meetings from 2-5:30pm. The conference at West Point is 15 hours long and if bad weather makes for a long day unless you are gaming ;-)
Holiday party trip to the The Time Machine in Manchester was fun with ten members attending with Mr. Haskell.

ELLIS CON XXI was a success. Over 120 people present with five dealers. The club earned over $1,000 to help pay for our annual trip to West Point. Many thanks to our gamemasters and to volunteer adults: Justin's mom, Mr. Knisbaum, Mrs. Shields, Mrs. Omerod, Mrs. Haskell.
The trip to see two World War II US bombers, the B-17 Flying Fortress and the B-24 Liberator, as well as a P-51 Mustang fighter was a success. Besides a walk-through of these four-engined bombers, we watched the B-17 warm-up and take off and then had a fast-food -lunch. You can check them out and other planes at the Collins Foundation, located in Stowe, Mass.
