Mrs.Higgins Kindergarten

This year your child will be responsible for memorizing "sight words" or high frequency words. These words are very common in reading selections and having your child memorize them helps to make them a more fluent, successful reader. Many of these words do not follow conventional patterns so students can not sound them out. Memorization is very important. We will work on these in class but the children will be expected to practice them at home often.
