Fantastic Fall

A HUGE Thanks to Mrs. Casazza for undertaking the task of managing our class basket and Mrs. Campos for assisting her! Thanks to your support our class will receive over $40 to spend on supplies for the classroom! Everyone's contributions and time are greatly appreciated.

Our class is really enjoying getting to know Ms. Kelli our Ready, set, teach intern from the high school. She is fabulous with the children and they adore her too.

Academics

Even though we focus on one letter a week your child has been exposed to all 26 letters of the alphabet. By this time they should have mastered all capital letters, most lowercase letters and the majority of their sounds. Keep practicing those sight word flash cards that you received at conferences!Encourage your child to write at home. They can write letters to loved ones or help you make a list. Please encourage them to "sound the word out" rather than tell them how to spell it. We "stretch" the word out so that we can hear all of its sounds. The students have become pretty comfortable with writing in journals and I am encouraging them to add more detail now. I'm asking that they write additional sentences to tell me what something looks like or how it sounds. They are getting very good at it Smile Thank you again for all of your help and support!
