Instrument Safety

Please think before you set your instrument down.  The safest place to put your instrument down is IN YOUR CASE.  It is not a good choice to set your instrument (or mine) on the floor or on a chair.  Always set violins and violas either on their backs or on their sides.  Cellos should only be set on the floor on their side (with their back to a wall if possible).  Do not set an instrument bridge side down!  This will cause the bridge to warp.  Thank you!

Temperature changes

String instruments are very fragile and are sensitive to changes in temperature and humidity.  Strings change pitch, wood swells and can crack.  If an instrument gets hot, the varnish can actually soften and then stick to the inside of your case.  Please take care to not leave your instrument in your car or any other place that does not maintain a consistent temperature.

Borrowed Instruments

Please remember that if you have a borrowed an instrument from me, or anyone else, then it has become your responsibility to take the best care of that instrument that you can.  They should be returned in the same condition as you received them so that another person may enjoy them.  "You breaky, you losey, you buyee!"  Money mouth
