Students will use classtime to create documents required for the Trade/Technology Portfolio, which which needs to be completed by the Spring of 2010. Contents include a resume, cover letter, a signed trade/technology checklist, NOCTI reports, an essay about trade production accomplishments, a reflective essay, certifications, awards and letters of recommendation.
Students will create documents for business correspondence that could be used when the student starts working after graduation. Some of the documents produced will be: business letters, address labels, consumer complaint letters and brochures, invoices, form letters and spreadsheets.
Finally, students will be encouraged throughout the school year to use the internet to address post-graduate concerns. They need to be ready to go to work, rent an apartment, get a car loan, obtain credit and a credit rating, find out their credit score, verify employment and other topics before graduation day.
