St. Mary's Fifth Grade Syllubus:  We follow all NJ Core Curriculum Standards and Diocesean Standards.

  • Textbook:  “Our Nation”   
  • Exploration of various Native American cultures of the Americas
  • The history of the United States and its neighboring countries
  • Use of a text book as well as materials from other sources.
  • Map skills and knowledge of various graphs 
  • Current events will be used from time to time

Remember to log onto www.nationalgeographic.com and  www.freerive.com and practice for the NationalGeographic Bee in the fall.  Play the games and the Geo-Quiz.    Remember to go to Sunday Mass and praise God.

Seventh Grade Syllubus:  We follow NJ Core Curriculum Standards and Diocesean Standards.

  • Theme - United States History I
  • An overview of cultures of the early Americas
  • The American Revolution, the Constitution of the United States and the Civil War
  • Current Events from time to time
  • Social studies Skills, map skills, graphs, charts, and essay writing

Remember to log onto www.nationalgeographic.com and www.freerice.com and practice the games and puzzles.  Get prepared for the National Geographic Bee in the fall.  Remember to attend Mass on Sunday and praise God.

  • Theme – United States History II
  • Explore the changes in America from Abraham Lincoln to Kennedy 
  • Major wars the Civil, WWI, WWII, Korean, and Vietnam 
  • Social  and economical issues discussed
  • Current Events at certain times
  • History Alive performed by the eighth graders
