CREATIVE WRITING ASSIGNMENT - ANCIENT EGYPT
During the week of 10-17-11, students will write a 3 to 5 paragraph story, "My Trip Down the Nile". They must include accurate facts about the geography of the Nile, describing it from its sources in Central Africa and Ethiopia where their journey will begin, to the Delta at the Mediterranean Sea, where their imaginary journey will end. Each paragraph must have 5 to 7 sentences, as well as a topic and transition or conclusion sentence. Stories will be read aloud to the class during the week of 10-24-11.
Students will also receive a "Choice Menu" for ancient Egypt on Monday, 10-17. It is to be signed by a parent and returned to the teacher on Tuesday, 10-18. Students will have 2 weeks of class time and homework time to complete the choices they make to earn 100 points (plus up to 20 points of extra credit). Please help your student to manage their time to complete assignments by the due date and check their progress daily. The teacher will also monitor student progress daily.
