All About Me
Hi! I am Brandie Simmons, and I am currently a fourth grade teacher at Bayou View Elementary. GO VIKINGS! This is my very first year at BVE, and I am so thrilled to be here and look forward to what is sure to be a fun filled and exciting year. I taught kindergarten last year, so I am working hard to change my mind set to an older age group. My fifth grade daughter still likes to tell me that my ideas are “babyish,” but I will work on that! My wonderful husband is James, and we have two beautiful children, Ansleigh (10) and Garrett (5). Although we were both born and raised on the coast, we moved away for several years because of jobs and the dreaded Hurricane. So, you can imagine how excited I am to be back at home and find a job in the very best school district in the world!
To My Students
Fourth Grade Rocks!! I am so excited about this year. We are going to do so much learning and have so much fun while we do it! I can’t wait to get to know and work with each of you. Let’s have the best year ever!
To the Parents of my Students
I would like for all of my parents to know that I love my job, and I believe that I have the greatest responsibility in the world: to provide a safe and loving environment and to help your children blossom into life-long learners and productive members of society. I do not take this responsibility lightly. I truly do believe in challenging and encouraging every student to be the best that he/she can be. As a team, you and I can help your child achieve every goal that we set in our classroom this year. The greatest reassurance that I can give you as your child’s teacher is this: From one parent to another, I will ALWAYS treat your children the way that I would want my own children to be treated. As always, if you have any questions, comments, or concerns; please feel free to call, email, or send a note. I look forward to working with you to make this a successful year for your child. Remember: you are your child’s greatest teacher!
