All students will abide by the following guidelines in all classes:
* Sit and Stay - Go to your locker, restroom, water fountain, etc. BEFORE you come to your next class. Once you come into a classroom, you are to remain there until the dismissal bell at the end of the period. You will not be allowed to leave the room except for emergencies: blood, barf, bone.
*Before the bell rings to begin class, make sure you sharpen pencils if needed and have all supplies ready to use.
*Raise your hand and get permission to speak. No yelling out in class, please. Follow directions the first time they are given.
*Please stay in your seat. Discard your trash as you exit, not during class.
*NO GUM at Cox Middle School. Period.
*Please have your parent sign your agenda daily. NEVER tear pages out of your agenda, including Behavior Calendars.
*You must sign out if you must leave the room during class. Your agenda is your hall pass and must be signed by your teacher before you leave the room. There is also a sign-out page in the classroom for you to sign.
*Talking during Channel One or any announcements is prohibited.
*Note writing or passing notes in class or in the hallways is prohibited.
*Please do not write on desks or on yourself.
*Please take your books and materials with you when you leave a classroom.
You are responsible for your books. They could be damaged or stolen if left behind.
*Your books are assigned to you. You are the only person allowed to use them. Do not let others borrow any of them.
*Locker privileges may be revoked if you let others use your locker or if you give out your locker combination to anyone. Please don't do either.
*Please respect your teacher's materials. For example, put tops back on markers and glue. Please do not take anything out of the classroom without permission.
*No talking along the way to and from lunch. Dr. Steen is serious about this.
*Bullying and disrespectful, disruptive, or rude behavior are not allowed and are subject to punishment.
*You may NOT talk during lockdowns, fire drills, or tornado drills. This is for your safety!
