Classroom Rules

There are three classroom rules to follow:

1.Respect

2.Responsibility

3.Resourcefulness

RULE 1: Respect

Respect for yourself, others and teachers/faculty are expected.

Prophanity and name calling in the classroom will not be tolerated and will result in a detention and/or a call home. Always treat others the way you would like to be treated. Other disrespectful acts include throwing objects, talking while others are talking, horseplay, etc. All disrespectful acts may result in a detention or further disciplinary action.

 RULE 2: Responsibility

"When a man points a finger at someone else,  he should remember that four of his fingers are pointing at himself." -Louis NizerBe responsible for your actions

 Being Prepared:

It is your responsibility to keep track of your assignments and to come prepared to class. Coming prepared to class means showing up with four items.

1. Pen or Pencil

2. Agenda

3. A separate Science Notebook (Single Subject)

4. Science Book

These items will NOT be given to you if you show up unprepared. Being unprepared for class may result in a detention and/or a call home.

Seniors need a three ringed binder as a notebook

Being On-Time:  It is your responsibility to get to class on time and to turn assignments in on time.

Tardiness will result in a detention if you do not have a pass at any time, however depending on the situation, my rule is three strikes and your out (detention)

Late work will not received full credit. Late homework will not receive points, but instead a check mark of completion, which indicates your efforts. Late projects/labs will receive no more than half credit. TURN IN ASSIGNMENTS ON TIME.

Make-Up Work:

It is your responsibility to ask for make-up work and turn in make-up work. You have two days for every day absent to make up work. Beyond two days, this work is considered late.

 RULE 3: Resourcefulness

Being a resourceful person includes having all your resources for the day’s lesson, which also fall under your responsibility to be prepared for class.

RESPECT YOUR RESOURCES and CLASSROOM.  Fowl play with science materials/ resources either during demonstrations or labs will result in a detention.

Expectations

I expect students to:

1. Be respectful and practice good behavior and manners

2. Be on time and prepared for class

3. Give their best each day

4. Take care of their resources
