Why Rent? Own Instead For Sale • Back To All Pages »

Thinking Of Buying An Instrument?

Some thoughts on costs accociated with being a member of the band.

If you currently rent an instrument you should really consider owning one.  You can either purchase what you have now or start all over again.  The best way is to purchase a quality used instrument.

The resale market is a way to start and can be a real money saving route too.  But, you need to be armed with knowledge before you spend.  I can and want to help you with that.  I am familiar with many instrument brands and I know what to look for when purchasing through online sources.  I have helped out many St. Mary families with their purchases either by way of getting the instrument through me or me providing some general direction on conducting their own search.

Please contact me.  I would love to help you save some money and keep music in the lives of our young musicians.  Renting is convenient at first, but a waste of money after the first year.

A side note:

Avoid instruments made in developing counrties unless backed by a local music store.  The alloys they are suspect and most often will break even when a repare is attempted rendering the instrument useless.  Replacement parts for these instruments are often impossible to get.
